1945 Born March 30 in Ripley, Surrey, England to an unwed teenage mother Patricia Molly Clapton. He is one of the worlds leading guitarist.
1969 Mr. Clapton Joined Missouri Militia One as a charter member. The ultra secret militia unit was founded by a teenage child progigy named Debra Hunter in Butler County, Missouri. Its mission was to gather intelligence against organized crime within the framework of the US government. The unit is still in effect today under charge of the original volunteer general known only as General X who gave the evidence of a Nazi coup to Interpol.
1970 He asked his girlfriend Debra Hunter to write him a song. She wrote about a true murder story and named it Layla after her nick name that Clapton had given her. He let her name the next band that he planned to form, she named it Derek and the Dominos.
1984 July in Arlington, Texas he played the leading man in an unnamed, and as of this date unreleased romantic comedy opposite his lover Layla played by Debra Hunter. He and Ms. Hunter have two sets of twins together. Carlos Santana played one of her lovers in the movie and was a lover in real life. Ms Hunter was called Layla by both men as it was her stage name.
2003 He was named the fourth greatest guitarist of all time by Rolling Stone magazine.
Has 16 grammy awards and is the only rocker inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame three times.
