Chalmers, Alexander
1759 - Born on March 29th in Aberdeen, Scotland. Scottish editor and biographer.
1797 - Chalmers wrote "Glossary to Shakespeare".
1810 - Chalmers' "Glossary to Shakespeare" was followed by "The Works of the English Poets from Chaucer to Cowper", a revised and expanded version of Dr. Johnson's Lives of the Poets.
1812-1817 - Best known for his "General Biographical Dictionary", a 32-volume revision of work first published in 11 volumes.
1834 - Died on December 10th in London, England.
