1932 - Born on June 25th in Mhondoro, Zimbabwe. Zimbabwean Catholic clergyman.

1965 - Ordained as a priest and was assigned to be the Priest of Salisbury, Zimbabwe.

1972 - Appointed as the Auxiliary Bishop of Salisbury, Zimbabwe and Titular Bishop of Rucuma.

         - He was appointed Auxiliary Bishop for Harare, before his episcopal ordination on January 14th.

1973 - Ordained as a bishop and was assigned to be the Bishop of Rucuma.

1976 - Appointed as the Archbishop of Salisbury, Zimbabwe.

         - Chakaipa was appointed Archbishop of Salisbury, following the resignation of Archbishop Francis William Markall, SJ.

2003 - He became the Archbishop of Harare, Zimbabwe.

         - Died on April 8th.
