33 BC - Tiberius gave Caligula an honorary quaestorship, a position he held until his reign.
35 BC - Caligula was named joint heir to the throne along with Tiberius Gemellus.
37 BC - Tiberius died on the 16th of March, his estate and the titles of the Principate were left to Caligula and Tiberius' own grandson, Gemellus, who were to serve as joint heirs.
38 BC - Caligula focused his attention on political and public reform.
40 BC - Caligula expanded the Roman Empire into Mauretania and made a significant attempt at expanding into Britannia.
41 BC - He died on the 24th of January.
