Castro, Raul Hector
1916 - He was born in Cananea, Sonora, Mexico on the 12th of June.
1926 - He moved to the U.S. state of Arizona and later became a United States citizen.
1939 - He saved enough to enter Arizona State Teachers College at Flagstaff, Arizona, from which he graduated.
- He worked for five years for the US State Department as a foreign service clerk at Agua Prieta, a border city in his native Sonora, but he never forgot his dream of becoming a lawyer.
1964 - He served as US ambassador to El Salvador.
1968-1969 - He served as US ambassador to Bolivia.
1975 - He was the governor of Arizona.
1977-1980 - He served as US ambassador to Argentina.
