1955 - Castaneda enrolled in Los Angeles Community College.
1957 - Became a naturalized American citizen.
1958 - Castaneda worked at the Mattel Toy Company plant on Rosecrans Ave. and Hawthorne.
1959 - Castaneda graduated from LACC with an Associate of Arts degree in psychology.
1960 - Carlos Aranha Castaneda marries Margaret Evelyn Runyan in Tlaquiltenango, Mexico.
1961 - Met a Yaqui shaman named Don Juan Matus who took him on a spirit quest through the use of peyote and datura.
1962 - Castaneda received his B.A. from UCLA in Anthropology.
1993 - Married to Florinda Donner.
1998 - Died of liver cancer on April 27th in Westwood, California.
