1977 - Lavonya Quintelle Carter or Quincy Carter, born on the 13th of October in Decatur, Georgia and had a stellar high school football career, becoming well-known in the Atlanta area. He is an American football quarterback, who has played for the Dallas Cowboys and New York Jets in the NFL.
1996 - He originally signed a football letter of intent with Georgia Tech, but opted instead for baseball after being drafted by the Chicago Cubs.
1998 - After two seasons in baseball, he went to the University of Georgia college football program.
2001 - He declared himself eligible for the NFL draft after his junior season and was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the 2nd round as the 22nd pick of the NFL Draft.
2004 - He was released on the 4th of August offseason under unclear circumstances by the Cowboys.
- He was signed to a one-year contract with the New York Jets, where he served as a backup to Chad Pennington and started three games (winning two) after Pennington suffered a rotater cuff injury.
- He suffered a drug relapse during the playoffs of the season, and has received treatement for drug addiction and recently-diagnosed bipolar disorder in Houston.
2005 - The Jets released him during the offseason, and he currently lives in St. Louis, Missouri. If he is signed by another NFL team to play, he will likely be required to miss his first four games due to his most recent drug problems.
- He officially filed his retirement papers in September, but has stated he intends to return to the NFL.
2006 - On the 4th of April, he was signed by the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League (CFL) to a one year contract.
-On the 15th of December, he was arrested in Irving, Texas on possession of marijuana charges. He was released in lieu of a $500 bond paid by Dallas-Fort Worth area sports talk-show host and journalist, Randy Galloway.
2007 - In February, he was reported to have signed with the Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings, a team in the af2 indoor football league.
