1949 - Capecchi debuted as Amonasro (Verdi's Aida) at Reggio Emilia.
1951 - He was engaged by the Metropolitan Opera, making his debut in New York on the 24th of November, as the elder Germont in La traviata.
1954-1975 - He remained on the roster there, and returned as both singer and stage director.
1988 - He created the part of the Maestro di Cappella in Sylvano Bussotti's L'ispirazione at the premiere in Florence.
1998 - He died on the 30th of June in Milan.
