1930 - He developed his first basic wire recorder.
1940 - Received a Bachelor of Science from Armour Institute of Technology.
- Merged with Lewis Institute and became Illinois Institute of Technology.
1942 - Finished his Master of Science from the same institution.
1944 - Invented modern form of magnetic tape recording.
1968 - Illinois Institute of Technology awarded him an honorary doctorate.
1995 - Died on 23rd of June.
