1943 - Rafael Leonardo Callejas Romero was born on the 14th of November in Tegucigalpa in Honduras.

         - He studied agricultural economics at Mississippi State University.

1968 - He was made the Director of Economic Planning by President Oswaldo López Arellano.

1978-1981 - President Juan Alberto Melgar Castro named Callejas Minister for Agriculture and Natural Resources.

1990-1994 - He became the President of Honduras January, representing the National Party of Honduras (PNH).

2006 - He was turned away from the United States after being detained for a number of hours in Miami.
