1912 - Ratu Sir George Cakobau was born on the 6th of November.
- He was educated at Fiji's Queen Victoria School, then at Newington College in Australia and Wanganui Technical College in Wanganui, New Zealand.
1938 - He became a member of the Great Council of Chiefs.
1939-1945 - Ratu Cakobau served with the Fiji Military Forces in World War II, rising to the rank of Captain.
1951 - He was elected to the Legislative Council.
1960 - He served as paramount chief of Fiji.
1970 - He was Minister for Fijian Affairs and Local Government and subsequently as a minister without portfolio.
1972 - He was elected as Governor General of Fiji.
1973 - He became the governor-general of Fiji.
1982 - Ratu Cakobau retired from office.
1989 - He remained influential until his death on the 25th of November.
