1916 - Born in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. American violinist.

         - She studied at the Juilliard School in New York before moving to Paris.

         - She recorded concertos by Beethoven and Bruch with the Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam.

1935 - She was given a $25,000 violin after her performance at Lady Ravendale's home in England.

1938 - She performed her first major concert in Wisconsin on January 17th.

         - She was arrested in Paris after World War II, accused of being a Nazi sympathizer because she played under conductor Willem Mengelberg, who had been affiliated with musical associations sanctioned by the Nazi Party.

2002 - Died on April 28th of natural cause in Birmingham, Alabama.
