Burnett, Frances Eliza

1849 - She was born in Cheetham Hill, Manchester on the 24th of November.
1868 - She turned to writing to support them all, with a first story published in Godey's Lady's Book.
1873 - She married Dr. Swan Burnett of Washington, D.C.
1886 - She published Little Lord Fauntleroy.
1888 - She won a lawsuit in England over the dramatic rights to Little Lord Fauntleroy.
1898 - She divorced Dr. Burnett. She later re-married, this time to Stephen Townsend, her business manager.
- Her later works include Sara Crewe later rewritten as A Little Princess The Lady of Quality considered one of the best of her plays and The Secret Garden.
1893 - She published a memoir of her youth, The One I Knew Best of All.
1909 - She discover a secret garden, but she moved back to the United States, after having become a U.S. citizen.
1924 - Frances Hodgson Burnett died on the 29th of October in Plandome, New York.
