1488 - Believed to be born near Mainz.

1519 - In Straßburg he got in contact with a learned lawyer Nikolaus Gerbel.

1521 - Brunfels became a minister at Steinau an der Straße and later, in Neuenburg am Rhein.

1527 - Brunfels'es Catalogi virorum illustrium is considered to be the first book on the history of evangelical Church.

         - Brunfels's religious views brought him into a controversy with Martin Luther and Ulrich Zwingli.

1530 - He began to study medicine at the University of Basel.

1532 - Brunfels became a City physician in Bern, where he stayed till the end of his life.

1534 - He died on the 23rd of December in Bern, Switzerland.
