1879 - Born on June 20th in Wheeling, West Virginia. Brues was an entomologist whose research focused on descriptive biology.
1901-1902 - Received his A.B. and M.S. degree from the University of Texas.
1905 - He was the curator of invertebrate zoology at the Milwaukee Public Museum.
1909 - Became an instructor in economic entomology at Harvard University.
1910 - He was the editor of the journal Psyche.
1915 - Published the book, A Key to the Families of North American Insects, with A. L. Melander.
1927 - He published the book, "Animal Life in Hot Springs" in Quarterly Review of Biology.
1929 - Became the president of Entomological Society of America.
1935 - Advanced to professor of entomology at Harvard University.
1946 - Became professor emeritus.
1955 - Died on July 22nd at Crescent City, Florida.
