Brown, Mark Tolon
1946 - Born on November 25th in Erie, Pennsylvania. Marc Brown is best known as the author and illustrator who created the beloved aardvark Arthur.
1956 - Changed the spelling of his name (from Mark) in honor of the painter Marc Chagall.
- Brown has also collaborated with his wife, Laurene Krasny Brown, on a number of non-fiction books for children.
1964-1969 - He attended the Cleveland Institute of Art.
1976 - He wrote and illustrated "Arthur Adventure" series (beginning with "Arthur's Nose").
