Brooks, Alfred Hulse

1871 - Born on July 18th in Ann Arbor, Michigan. American geologist.
- Discovered that the biggest mountain range in Arctic Alaska was separate from the Rocky Mountains.
1903 - He was made chief of the Alaska section of the Geological Survey, became an authority on the area, and published widely on it.
1906 - His book, 'The Geography and Geology of Alaska' was a comprehensive treatment of the subject.
1924 - Died on November 22nd.
1925 - The mountain, Brooks Range, was named after him.
