Brodie, John Riley
1935 - Brodie was born in San Francisco, California on the 14th of August.
1956 - He graduated and was selected as a consensus All-American the same year.
1957 - He first appeared with the 49ers as a rookie, seeing limited action.
1960 - He was among the leading passers in the league throughout.
1965 - His best statistical year when he led the League in passing average (3,112 yards) and touchdowns (30).
- He appeared in the Pro Bowl.
1970 - He received the NFL's Most Valuable Player Award.
1985 - He retired from his football career, Brodie competed as a professional golfer on the Senior PGA Tour.
1986 - He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.
2006 - Brodie's number 12 jersey was brought out of retirement and worn by Trent Dilfer, backup quarterback for the 49ers.
