Brock, Louis Clark
1939 - He was born on the 18th of June in El Dorado, Arkansas.
1961 - He signed with the Cubs as an amateur free agent and broke into the Majors.
1964-1967 - Brock helped the Cardinals to National League pennants and to World Series championships in defeating the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox, respectively.
- Brock became the first player to steal 50 bases and hit 20 home runs in the same season.
- Brock hit 5 home runs in the first 4 games of the season, becoming the first player to do so.
- Brock was named the National League Babe Ruth award.
1974 - He stole a major-league record 118 bases (breaking Maury Wills' record of 104 in

1975 - He received the Roberto Clemente Award.
1977 - He received Lou Gehrig Memorial Award.
1979 - He received the Hutch Award.
1985 - He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
2006 - On the 5th of December, he was recognized for his accomplishments on and off of the field when he received the Bobby Bragan Youth Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award.
