1819 - Broadhead was born in Charlottesville, Virginia on the 29th of May.

         - He studied law at St. Louis, Missouri after a one year stay in the University of Virginia.

1850-1853 - He also served in the Missouri Senate before returning to private practice as a partner in a law firm back in St Louis.

1861 - He formed the Committee of Safety to oppose the growing southern factions in the lead up to the American Civil War and was a member of the Missouri Constitutional Convention that delcared Missouri's loyalty to the Union.

1876 - Broadheard worked closely on the Whisky Ring bribery cases.

1978 - He was chosen as the president of the new American Bar Association.

1882-1885 - Broadheard represented Missouri in the House of Representatives as a Democrat.

1893 - He was as special commissioner to France and later minister to Switzerland.

1898 - He died on the 7th of August.
