Allen Wilford Brimley

1934 - Born on the 27th of September in Salt Lake City, Utah.

1980 - He often plays gruff or stodgy old men, notably on the drama series Our House.

         - Brimley is also well known for his appearances on commercials, namely a series of commercials he did for Quaker Oats Oatmeal.

1993 - He played William Devasher, the ominous head of security for Bendini, Lambert & Locke Tom Cruise film, The Firm, based on the novel by John Grisham.

2006 - He was the subject of a series of music videos on YouTube.com that parodied his Liberty Medical commercials and his pronunciation of 'diabetes' by a colloquial alternative.
