1874-1878 - He entered and graduated from École Normale Supérieure.
1881 - Brillouin was a physics assistant at the Collège de France while he worked for his doctorate in mathematics and physics which was awarded.
1888 - Held posts as assistant professor of physics at Nancy, Dijon and Toulouse before returning to Paris to the École Normale Supérieure.
1900 - Brillouin was Professor of Mathematical Physics at the Collège de France.
- He built a new model of the Eötvös balance.
1921 - He was elected to the Académie des Science.
- Marcel Brillouin worked on topics ranging from history of science to the physics of the earth and the atom.
1948 - Died on June 16th.
