Branch, Deion Anthony
1979 - Born on the 18th of July in Albany, Georgia. He is an American football wide receiver who currently plays for the Seattle Seahawks of the NFL.
2002 - He was picked by New England in the second round of the NFL Draft and out of the University of Louisville.
2005 - Branch was named the Most Valuable Player of Super Bowl XXXIX on February 6th, after tying former San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jerry Rice and former Cincinnati Bengals tight end Dan Ross for the Super Bowl reception record with 11 catches for 133 yards.
- Branch had an impressive season, catching 78 passes and falling only two yards shy of his first 1,000 yard season.
2006 - In May, the Patriots attempted to spark negotiations by offering Branch a contract extension through 09'.
- In July, Branch began his holdout with the Patriots. It continued into August, and through the first three preseason games.
- In August, the New England Patriots issued this statement, "The New England Patriots had given Deion Branch permission to seek a trade and negotiate a contract with other clubs.
- In September, Branch was traded to the Seattle Seahawks.
2007 - The Patriots received a first round #24 pick in the NFL Draft from the trade which was used on University of Miami Safety, Brandon Meriweather.
