1923 - She met and married a French exchange student, Richard Brault, and moved to France.
1928 - She met Laurence Vail, who was then married to Peggy Guggenheim.
1929-1932 - Boyle and Vail lived together, following their divorces, they married. With Vail, she had three more children.
- The Crosbys' Black Sun Press published Boyle's first book of fiction titled Short Stories.
1936 - She wrote a novel titled Death of a Man that was an attack on the growing threat of Nazism but at the time, no one in America was listening.
1962 - Boyle accepted a creative writing position on the faculty of San Francisco State College.
1967 - She participated in numerous protests was arrested twice and imprisoned.
1992 - Died on the 27th of December in Mill Valley, California.
