5XX AD - Born in Rome, Italy.

603 AD - He was a deacon of the Roman Church when Pope St. Gregory I the Great sent him in as a legate to Constantinople, where he obtained from the Byzantine emperor Phocas an edict recognizing the see of Rome as the head of all the churches.

606 AD - On the death of Pope Sabinian, he was elected his successor.

607 AD - Served as pope from the 19th of February to the 12th of November.

607 AD - He died on the 12th of November while serving as a pope in Rome.
