680? - Saint Boniface was born at Crediton, Devon. He was a missionary who propagated Christianity in the Frankish Empire during the 8th century.

723 - He felled the holy oak tree dedicated to Thor.
He established the first bishopric in Germany.
737-738 - Visited to Rome, he was made papal legate for Germany.
745 - He was granted Mainz as metropolitan see.
754 - On 5th of June he was killed by mob in Frisia.
He is the patron saint of Germany and the Netherlands.
