1712 - Thomas Bond was born in Calvert County, Maryland, on the 2nd of May, the son of Richard Bond and Elizabeth Chew.
1738 - He began his medical training in Annapolis and traveled to Paris and England.
1739 - He returned to Philadelphia.
1741 - Became Port Inspector for Contagious Diseases in Philadelphia.
1743 - He helped his long-time friend Benjamin Franklin establish the American Philosophical Society.
1750 - Bond began to raise funds to establish a place of care for the both the sick and the mentally ill.
1752 - Co-founded the Pennsylvania Hospital on High (now Market) Street in Philadelphia.
1766 - Served as trustee of the University of Pennsylvania and began clinical lectures for the benefit of medical students.
1784 - Bond died in Philadelphia on the 26th of March.
