1808 - Bonar was born on the 19th of December in Edinburgh.

 

1843 - He married Jane Catherine Lundie.

 

1848-1873 - Served as the editor for "The Quarterly journal of Prophecy".

 

1853 - Earned the Doctor of Divinity degree at the University of Edinburgh Aberdeen.

 

He entered the Ministry of the Church of Scotland.

 

1859-1879 - Served for the "Christian Treasury".

 

1867 - He was moved to Edinburgh to take over the Chalmers Memorial Church.

 

1869 - Wrote biographies of ministers he had known, including "The Life of the Rev. John Milne of Perth".

 

1883 - Elected Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland.

 

1889 - Horatius Bonar died on 31st of May.
