1775 - He was born on the 28th of December in Lisbon. He is the son of an Italian musician of the Portuguese court orchestra.

         - He studied at the Music Seminary of the Patriarchal See in Lisbon.

1789 - He was accepted as a member of the Brotherhood of Santa Cecilia.

1801 - He traveled to Paris, starting a virtuoso pianist career.

1810 - He moved to London and got acquainted with the liberal circles.

1822 - He founded the ‘Sociedade Filarmonica' in Lisbon, first concert society established in Portugal.

         - He became a music teacher of Queen Maria II of Portugal.

1835 - He served as first Director of the National Conservatory.

1842 - He died on the 18th of August in Lisbon.
