1877 - Charles Bolden was born on the 6th of September. US bandleader, cornetist, and jazz musician. He formed 1st jazz band.

1895 - 1907 - He was known as King Bolden and his band was a top draw in New Orleans.

       - He published a scandal sheet called the Cricket.

1907 - He suffered an episode of acute alcoholic psychosis.

       - With the full diagnosis of dementia praecox, he was admitted to a mental institution.

1931 - He died on 4th of November and was buried in an unmarked grave in Holt Cemetery.

1998 - A monument to him was erected in Holt Cemetery.

He formed 1st jazz band.
