1842 - Born on the 24th of February in Padua.
Boito studied music at the Milan Conservatoire.
1868 - Premiere of his finished opera, Mefistofele, based on Goethe's Faust at La Scala, Milan.
1875 - His second premiere was held in Bologna on 10th of April.
1881 - Premiered his revised libretto for Verdi's unwieldy Simon Boccanegra.
1887 - He provided subtle and resonant libretti for Verdi's last masterpieces, Otello and Falstaff (1893).
1889-1897 - Served as director of the Parma Conservatoire.
1918 - He died in Milan on the 10th of June and was interred there in the Cimitero Monumentale.
1948 - A memorial concert was given in his honor at La Scala.
