1928 - Born in New Haven, Connecticut on the 23rd of November and raised in Flushing, New York. US songwriter and writer of musicals.
- He attended the University of Wisconsin, where he wrote the musical Big As Life.
1955 - His Broadway debut when he contributed songs to catch a Star.
1956 - He worked on Ziegfeld Follies, which closed out-of-town.
- Bock met lyricist Sheldon Harnick, with whom he forged a successful partnership.
1959 - Hired to compose musical biography of former New York City Mayor LaGuardia.
1959-1964 - Co-wrote musicals "Fiorello!" (Pulitzer Prize for drama), "The Fiddler on the Roof".
1997 - Established the Jerry Bock Award for Excellence in Musical Theatre.
