1775 - Graduated medicine at Jena, with his MD thesis De generis humani varietate nativa.
1776 - Appointed extraordinary professor of medicine in Göttingen.
1778 - Ordinary professor of medicine in Göttingen.
1787-1804 - Wrote Institutiones Physiologicae, and Handbuch der vergleichenden Anatomie.
1790-1828 - Blumenbach's work included his description of sixty humans crania (skulls) published originally in fasciculi as Collectionis suae craniorum diversarum gentium illustratae decades.
1840 - Blumenbach died on 22nd of January in Göttingen.
