Blake, William Hume
1809 - Born on the 10th of March Kitegan, county Wicklow, Ireland. Canadian (Irish-born) jurist.
- He was the father of Edward Blake.
- He was educated at Trinity College, Dublin.
1832 - He immigrated to Canada and settled on a farm in Middlesex County.
1838 - Studied law, and was called to the bar.
1848 - He was elected to the Legislature for East York (now Ontario County).
- Appointed Solicitor-General for Upper Canada in the Lafontaine-Baldwin ministry.
1849 - Resigned from the ministry in order to become the first chancellor of the court.
1862 - In March, he resigned on his post because of failing health.
1870 - He died on 5th of November in Toronto.
