1675 – Born- November 23rd, in Bristol, England. Edward Teach better known as Blackbeard was a notorious English pirate who had a short reign of terror in the Caribbean Sea.

 

1716 – He served as a pirate under Benjamin Hornigold who retired in 1717, taking advantage of an amnesty extended to privateers by the British government.

 

1718 – His best known vessel was the Queen Anne's Revenge, which is believed by some to have run aground near Beaufort Inlet, North Carolina and died this year.
