Bizet, Alexandre Cesar Leopold

1838 - Georges Bizet was born on the 25th of October in Paris, France.
1848 - He entered the Paris Conservatory of Music a fortnight before his 10th birthday.
1855 - The Symphony in C Major was written there when he was 17.
1857 - One-act operetta "Le docteur Miracle" won him a share in a prize offered by Jacques Offenbach.
- He won the Music Composition scholorship of the Prix de Rome.
1963 - He composed the opera "Les pêcheurs de perles" (The Pearl Fishers) for the Theatre-Lyrique.
- He wrote the opera La jolie fille de Perth, the popular L'arlésienne and Jeux d'enfants (Children's games) for the piano.
1875 - He composed a romantic opera, Djamileh.
- He composed opera "The Fair Maid of Perth", "Carmen".
- He died on the 3rd of June.
