1730 - He was ordained deacon in the Church of England.
1731 - Became priest.
1735 - He became a member of the Society of Antiquaries.
1742 - Edited the State Papers of John Thurloe.
1744 - Wrote a Life of the Right Honourable Robert Boyle.
1752-1728 - Elected a fellow of the Royal Society and served as secretary.
1760 - Wrote "Life of Henry, Prince of Wales".
1766 - Birch was killed on the 9th of January by a fall from his horse.
