Binney, Edwin
1866 - Born in Westchester County, New York.
1885 - Binney took control of his father's business, Peeksill Chemical Co.
- He created the first dustless white chalk.
1900 - With his cousin C. Harold Smith, Edwin Binney opened a mill in Easton, Pennsylvania to produce slate pencils.
1902 - The invention was awarded a gold medal at the St. Louis World's Fair.
1903 - Binney & Smith produced the first box of Crayola crayons.
1911 - Binney family was spending time in St. Lucie County.
1934 - Edwin Binney died.
