1830 - Albert Bierstadt was born on the 7th of January.

Bierstadt began making paintings in New England and upstate New York.

1859 - Traveled westward in the company of a land surveyor the U.S. government.

1863 - He returned west again, in the company of the author Fitz Hugh Ludlow.

         - Painted The Rocky Mountains: Lander's Peak.

1886 - Painted the Storm in the Rocky Mountains (Mount Rosa).

1902 - Bierstadt died on 18th of February.

Mount Bierstadt in Colorado is named in his honor.
