1804 - Benjamin Alden Bidlack was born on the 8th of September in Paris, New York.

1835 - He was elected as member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.

1836 - He was elected as member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.

         - He was editor of the Republican Farmer and the Democratic Journal in Wilkes-Barre.

1845 - He was appointed Chargé d'Affaires to Colombia on 14th of May.

1846 - He negotiated treaty with Colombia allowing US right of way across Isthmus of Panama.

1849 - He died on the 6th of February in Bogota, Colombia.
