Bettman, Gary Bruce
1952 - Born on the 2nd of June in Queens, New York City. He is an American lawyer who has served as commissioner.
1974 - Studied labor relations at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, where he was a Brother of the Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity, and graduated.
1977 - After receiving a Juris Doctor degree from New York University, Bettman joined the large New York City law firm of Proskauer Rose Goetz & Mendelsohn.
1981 - In the NBA, Bettman served as the assistant general counsel under his mentor David Stern.
1993 - Served as commissioner of the National Hockey League since February.
2007 - He has most recently been criticized for his handling of the sale of the Nashville Predators.
