1853 - Born on the 23rd of April in Paris, France.

 

Worked as records clerk in a police department.

 

1882 - Presented a criminal identification system known as anthropometry for law enforcement.

 

1884 - The system was quickly adopted widely by American and British police forces.

 

1899 - Witnessed for the prosecution in the Dreyfus Affair.

 

Bertillon standardized the criminal mug shot and the evidence picture.

 

He developed "metric photography".

 

1914 - Alphonse Bertillon died on 13th of February in Münsterlingen, Switzerland.

 

He was the father of criminal identification.
