1961 - Graduated cum laude at the Università Statale in Milan with a thesis on the legal aspects of advertising.

 

1965 - Married Carla Dall'Oglio, and they had two children.

 

1973 - His first entry into the media world by means of a cable television station, Telemilano.

 

1974 - Berlusconi moved with his family into Villa Casati, in Milan.

 

1978 - Formed his first media group, Fininvest.

 

1980 - Founded Italy's first private national network Canale 5.

 

1986 - Berlusconi also tried to expand his business into France with his channel La Cinq.

 

1993 - Founder and Leader of the Forza Italia political movement in Rome.

 

1994-1995 - He became the Prime minister of Italy.

 

1995 - Sold a portion of his media holdings, first to the German media group Kirch.

 

1996-2001 - Leader of the parliamentary opposition.

 

         - He ran for Prime Minister again but was defeated by centre-left candidate Romano Prodi.

 

Silvio Berlusconi is the Leader of Forza Italia.

 

1999 - Expanded again in the media business in a partnership with Kirch called the Epsilon MediaGroup.

 

2001-2006 - Elected again as Prime Minister of Italy.

 

2002 - Served as Italian foreign minister.

 

2006 - He was applied a pacemaker in Cleveland Clinic in Ohio.
