1599 - He was born on the 13th of March in Diest in Brabant.

1616 - On the 24th of September, he was received into the novitiate at Mechelen.

1618 - In Mechelen, he made his simple vows, and was sent to Antwerp to begin the study of philosophy.

1621 - He was buried in the church of St. Ignatius at Rome, but his heart was taken to the Jesuit church in Louvain.

         - He was selected by the prefect of studies to take part in a philosophical disputation at the Greek College.

1865 - John Berchmans was declared Blessed.

1888 - He was canonized Feast on the 13th of  August.
