1938 - He was born on the 26th of April in Isola, Istria, and now Izola, Slovenia.

1960 - He joined the Olympic Games Welterweight division's gold medal and the Val Barker trophy as the Games' best boxer.

1961 - He defeated Ben Ali Allala, by decision in six rounds.

1963 - He won in Rome against Tomasso Truppi by knocked out in round eleven.

1964 - He fight and won in the former world Jr. Middleweight champion Denny Moyer.

1967 - He beat Emile Griffith by decision in fifteen rounds at New York's Madison Square Garden.

1968 - He completed their trilogy, once again at the Madison Square Garden and he won again.

1971 - Benvenuti got a rematch with Monzon for the world Middleweight title.

         - Once again beaten by Monzon, this time by knockout in round three on the 8th of May in Monte Carlo.

         - He announced his retirement there, and never returned to boxing.

         - He is a member of the International Boxing Hall of Fame.

         - Benvenuti had a record of 82 wins, 7 losses and 1 draw.
