1898 - Born on the 13th of November in Salt Lake City, Utah.
1919 - He attended the public schools and the University of Utah; during the First World War, served as a second lieutenant of Infantry; returned to the University of Utah and graduated.
1949 - He was high school principal and later businessman and paint manufacturer; president, National Association of Manufacturers.
1950 - Elected as a Republican to the United States Senate.
1974 - He was not a candidate for reelection and resumed business pursuits.
1993 - He died on the 19th of December in Salt Lake City, Utah.
