Israeli (Polish-born) politician and Zionist
1886 - Born on the 16th of October in Plonsk, Poland.
Became an ardent Zionist and socialist.
1906 - Moved to Palestine.
Worked as an agricultural laborer in the orange groves, and as journalist.
1915 - Expelled from Palestine, then under the rule of the Ottoman Empire, due to his political activities.
1917 - Moved to New York City and married the Russian-born Paula Munweis.
1949-1953 - Became Prime Minister of Israel on 25th of February. (1st prime minister of Israel)
1953 - Announced his intention to withdraw from government and settle in the Kibbutz Sde-Boker, in the Israeli
Negev.
1955-1963 - Returned to office as Defense Minister and later Prime Minister.
1973 - He died on 1st of December in Tel Aviv, Israel.
