1912 - Bell finished PhD at University of Columbia.
Bell produced significant results in number theory, including Diophantine analysis.
1924 - Won the prestigious Bôcher Prize with Solomon Lefschetz.
1926 - He joined the faculty of the California Institute of Technology.
1927 - His mathematical publication was the comprehensive survey Algebraic Arithmetic.
1937 - Wrote biographical collection "Men of Mathematics".
1946 - Wrote science fiction novel "The Time Stream".(under pseudonym John Taine)
1951 - Bell retired from CalTech.
1960 - He died on 21st of December in Watsonville, California.
