1912 - Born on the 7th of October in Lima, Peru.
- Attended high school and received his initial University education in engineering.
1930 - Studied architecture in the United States, where he first attended the University of Miami.
1935 - Transferred to the University of Texas at Austin, where he obtained his degree as an architect.
1937 - Started a magazine called El Arquitecto Peruano "Peruvian Architect", which dealt with interior design.
1943 - Belaunde began teaching architecture and urban planning at Lima's Universidad Católica.
- Became the dean of the Civil Engineering and Architecture department.
1944 - Belaúnde's political career began this year as cofounder of the National Democratic Front party.
1945 - 1948 - Served in the Peruvian Congress.
1955 - Belaunde also directed the construction of architecture of the Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería.
1963 - President of Peru.
1968 - Deposed by a military coup.
1980 - 1985 - Served again as Peruvian President.
2002 - Died on the 4th of June in Lima.
