Beilstein, Konrad Friedrich
1838 - Born on the 17th of February in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
- He received education at the Georg-August University of Göttingen.
1865 - Became a professor extraordinarius.
1866 - He left Göttingen and became a professor in Saint Petersburg.
- Developed the Beilstein test, an elemental test used to detect the presence of halogens.
- Founder of the famous Handbuch der organischen Chemie.
1881 - Compiled orderly handbook of known chemical compounds, "Handbook of Organic Chemistry".
1906 - Died on 18th October in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
